Introduction

The Ersa i-CON NANO mini soldering station is a product in the Ersa i-CON line of soldering stations. A more affordable version of the NANO, called PICO is also part of the i-CON line.

Configuration Files

There are a number of configuration files for NANO and PICO in the tables below. These are provided for the convenience of users that do not have access to a computer with Windows operating system, as the configuration utility provided by Ersa runs only on Windows.

Description

Configurations with entries in the Variable column make the soldering station operate in the Variable mode, where it regulates the tip to the given initial temperature and the user is allowed to change the target temperature in fine steps by pressing the buttons on soldering station. Configurations with entries in the T1, T2, and T3 columns make the soldering station operate in Fixed mode, where the user can only select one of three preset temperatures. E1, E2, E3 refer to the temperature regulation behavior: E1 is for slow regulation with no overshoot and is used for soldering sensitive parts; E2 is for faster regulation with slight temperature overshooting; E3 is for the fastest heating with highest overshoots. Standby is a reduced temperature state into which the soldering station switches if there is no load at the tip for a given time (in minutes). The tip will remain regulated to the given low temperature until either a button is pressed or a significant load is applied to the tip (e.g., when the tip is dipped into the metal cleaning wool). Shutdown is the time (in minutes) that the station will spend in Standby mode before shutting itself down to prevent an accident. The keylocking feature is disabled in all configurations.

Usage

  • Copy the file with the desired configuration to the root folder of a FAT-formatted micro SD card.
  • Rename the file on the card to NANO.CFG or PICO.CFG, respectively.
  • Insert the card into the micro-SD slot of the powered-down soldering station.
  • Turn on the power of the soldering station.
  • Wait for the setting to take effect before removing the card.
